Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

When Icolix hatched, the first thing he smelled was a heartseeker's chocolate trail. He knew he had to follow it. This led him south from where he hatched on the northern ice cap across the north ocean and on to the mainland. The journey long and he often felt like giving up. He grew to hate the whiffs of chocolate that taunted him, erratically trying to either find the heartseeker that made them, but he never appeared. Eventually, Icolix fled south, deep into the Voiceless Desert, hoping to be free of the trail  but it only grew stronger, driving him straight to the Bleeding Hart volcanoes on the equator. There, with a final whiff of chocolate, he finally met Nine Tapas the magma.

Icolix is usually standoffish, but to those few he has grown close to he is incredibly kind. He doesn't like wyrmlings and is fairly low-key in general, except when he is getting dragged into things (sometimes literally) by his mate. She makes sure he enjoys things and he always appreciates it in the end.
