Magma Dragons are capable of withstanding the intense temperatures of their element. They live in volcanic regions, their bodies coated in the red hot magma which clings to their scales. They must leave the lava fields in order to hunt, although they require surprisingly little food to sustain their lumbering mass.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

When she was a young dragon, Thewra was vicious. She harassed the older dragons of her clan and terrorized other hatchlings, giving her father more than his share of auburn hairs—but her mother always kept him calm. After an incident where she attempted to boil Herenia and Pierisonic's egg she was exiled, forced out of the Bleeding Hart volcanoes. Her horrendous behavior continued and she earned herself a name as a kidnapper, egg-smasher and (it is rumored) cannibal.

Things changed when a Nightmarish Precedence took Thewra in. The auburn-and-black aegis was the opposite of her gentle father; he mated with her and warned her: whatever she did to her hatchling, he would do to her. She reformed from her uncouth past out of self-defense and while caring for the egg and eventual hatchling, she learned how much more satisfying it was to make others happy. She now lives in a grassland northeast of the Voiceless Desert and is friends with Blunnyrm, afraid to return home so she can apologize.
