Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s extremely curious and seems to enjoy exploring the area around it.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Eolande Nestbuilder is named after the violet flowers she loves so much. She spends hours on a nearby meadow, where she plays with them and builds little nests out of those beautiful flowers. Eolande also gathers little stones from time to time and puts them into her newest nest, pretending the stones to be her eggs. It is a pity she will never grow up, she would have made a good mum.
