Seasonal Dragons take on the characteristics of the season during which they are born. Thus, eggs that are laid in spring match the pink flowers and green buds of spring, and those that are laid in the summer grow to depict the bright green of the forest trees and the yellow of the sun. Eggs laid in autumn display the bright colors of leaves falling from trees, and those that are laid during winter take on the appearance of the icy snow.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
Calcaneum has had some sort of lifetime enchantment on him that makes him impervious to damage. Arrows bounce off him, as do swords and even teeth and claws. He suspects someone, maybe his mom, had him bathed in magic water named Sticks when he was a baby, and the stuff seeped into and strengthened his hide. It's a conjecture that other dragons have a hard time believing. Because of his mysterious invulnerability, Calcaneum has gone on to be a warrior—a really good one, even putting the magic out of consideration. He's a great fighter, but he's trained in dodging attacks as well. There was a single occasion that taught him that, for whatever reason, Sticks did not make his hind legs from the ankle down invulnerable. In a careless moment in battle after many previous wins, he was bitten in both feet by an unpopular and usually craven dragon, and the awful pain left Calcaneum immobile for weeks. He learned his hard lesson to be careful and less arrogant as felt the agony of de-feet.
