Rift Wyrms are dragons adapted to both the frigid depths of the sea and the void that exists in the space between spaces. They have the ability to rip holes in the fabric of space that lead into and out of the void, and can manipulate the size and location of these rifts with additional effort. Their bodies give off an unsettling chill, while their mouths tend to glow from the mana they’ve consumed. Between their appearance and their method of travel, Rift Wyrms have a reputation as eldritch creatures that do not belong in this world. They tend to have a mischievous streak facilitated by their abilities. This ranges by individual from harmless japery to active malevolence, and many people and dragons are wary of them. Despite their reputation as tricksters, these wyrms are curious and may choose to help others on a whim just as often as they decide to harm.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. For For For For For For Rift is named after her husband, in a way. Before they met, she was just Rift. There was no one here like her, and she was simply named for the thing that made her unique. This Venturis she befriended some years ago was the only dragon who seemed interested in her as a person, not as a mere curiosity or a creature to fear. There was a period where they were fascinated by each other and their similarities and differences, and they proclaimed that they were made for each other. He changed his name to For Rift out of devotion to her, and she soon renamed herself For For Rift. Then he became For For For Rift, and it went on. Nowadays, they don't change names very often because they aren't allowed to until a waiting period is met. The workers at the House of Records are very annoyed at them. The files on the two contain numerous duplicate documents and crossed out names. Her attempts to magic away the waiting period just made it longer and the workers more annoyed.
