Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The firstborn offspring of Spin and Nightmare, Mind has a large legacy to live up to. She quickly took on the saddle of her heritage and began to explore her own personal skills. Though her parents are both strong magic users, Mind found her specialty was in physical combat. At first, her parents were disappointed, but she soon proved herself in battle. A scar over her left hip was given to her by her mate. Lines was a young male, looking to prove his own worth in his clan. When Mind wandered into his clan's territory, he immediately attacked her. Mind fled to recover, and when she later returned, she got the better of him. The power struggle went on for several months before the two realized they were actually interested in each other.
