Shimmer-scale Dragons are a very beautiful breed with small—but highly reflective—scales that shimmer and shine as the dragon moves through water. They don’t have fins or webbed feet, but their long, eel-like bodies allow them to swim quite fast. They were once rumored to carry large pearls in their claws—causing many to seek them out in search of this fabulous treasure. In reality, the “pearl” is of greater value to the dragon, for the fabled treasure is actually an egg carried by a migrating female.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Zlatna Ribica is a female Shimmer-scale dragon with an unusual profession. She is a predictor of the weather. Her innate abilities to foresee future events is nothing extraordinary but Ribica more than makes up for this with her meteorological knowledge and passion for her work. Ribica loves to see rare types of weather, a love which has led her into several life-threatening situations. Fortunately, she survived and her kin now try their best to prevent Ribica becoming too reckless in her ambition to see rare forms of weather.

As is characteristic of a Shimmer-scale dragon, Zlatna Ribica has made her home in a body of water. She lives at the confluence of two streams, a location which occasionally results in her getting swept away in the current. Despite this, Ribica vastly prefers living in a river to a lake or a pond, as she adores the freedom of travel which the river offers. It is not unusual to find Ribica by the coast or up the mountains which are the sources of her streams.
