Royal Blue dragons are a nocturnal breed who prefer to live high in the mountains near slow-moving water that reflects the night sky. Although quite capable of defending themselves, they are peaceful by nature and will avoid a fight whenever possible.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Madame belongs to an elite group of highly educated, beautiful dragons and dragonesses whose duties are to act as entertaining companions for rich or powerful dragons. They are all trained in poetry, history, dancing, and at least one musical instrument, so that they are able to join in conversations about various topics without making themselves or their clients look foolish. Madame was given the name "Butterfly" because of the silver butterfly mask she wears at all times to add mystery and intrigue to her natural beauty. She is most often hired to act as a dance partner at balls of high society (on the surface) and a political advisor (in secret)—a job her wide education has prepared her for perfectly.
