Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It is very active and tries to climb over everything.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Taro Ball lives in a baker's house, where he sleeps in whatever spot is out of the way. He helps around whenever he can so he won't be seen as a burden to his humans, but since he likes practicing magic on the utensils and fireplace, the owner and his apprentices kindly ask that he not help so often. Instead, he's assigned to go into town and advertise what bread and sweets are available that day, so he would not only bring more customers but be out of the workers' hair for a while.
