Shimmer-scale Dragons are a very beautiful breed with small—but highly reflective—scales that shimmer and shine as the dragon moves through water. They don’t have fins or webbed feet, but their long, eel-like bodies allow them to swim quite fast. They were once rumored to carry large pearls in their claws—causing many to seek them out in search of this fabulous treasure. In reality, the “pearl” is of greater value to the dragon, for the fabled treasure is actually an egg carried by a migrating female.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Sovereign State studies the water in rivers and the ocean in which he resides, and with enough reading material and magical implements, he can study some lakes as well. He mostly surveys currents and the living things that move along them, something many of his peers find boring, though they happily admit that his knowledge helps them determine what creatures can be caught during which times, how waterways and bodies are developing, and changing weather patterns. If a certain stream has grown noticeably, Sovereign State will likely know why or at least be able to provide information about the watercourse's currents. Every year, he attends a lot of meetings and conventions about hydrology. In fact, most of his "funds" (a sack of mixed shiny items deep in his cave, separate from the "main hoard") that are expended throughout the year go towards attendance fees, rent, and food. It's worth it because he wants to remain on top of current affairs.
