Pyralspite dragons are small, swift dragons that can breathe an intensely hot flame. They get their name from their resemblance to and affinity for garnets of the pyralspite family—they hoard such gems, preferring garnets that match their variant, and can tell the type of garnet from how it tastes. The red-violet variant is referred to as Almandine. Almandine Pyralspites are more aggressive than others of the same breed, and are very witty and love to mock or insult their opponents. They inhabit mountainous areas.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Mangano is probably the kindest of the Brightranger siblings, though that isn't saying a whole lot. She's loud, rude, and brutally honest towards others, often spitting out whatever comes to her mind. But she's also very excitable and actively defends those she cares about, mainly her father, Kimberley. Kimberley is a member of the Zyurangers, a powerful team of what are essentially dragon superheroes that travel the world and thwart evil. Like her sister, Managano truly admires Kimberley and wants to grow up to be like him, though she has admittedly not retained any of his strength or cunning. Anyone who badmouths him or any of the other Zyurangers is in for a fight with Mangano. She will viciously defend her father's reputation, even if it wasn't really in jeopardy. She also tends to do the same for her siblings and mother, though they don't care for Managano standing up for them when they are more than capable of doing so themselves.
