Sophrosyne Dragons are a rare sight, typically making themselves known only to protect and heal the vulnerable. A visit from one serves as a reminder that kindness prevails, and that there’s always hope for positive change. While it is known that they possess the power to reverse botched spells, some claim they can even cure methodically-cast curses. This has never been formally documented, but these dragons have been seen arriving in the aftermath of violence, and the scars of tragedy seem to heal faster in their wake. The feathers of a Sophrosyne have thus become a symbol of perseverance and light in the face of darkness.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Feeling pity towards them for their fates, Azilia spends almost all her time watching over the Zombies that linger on near the cave, in the hopes that one day she can cure their condition in one way or another. However, whenever an Undead catches a glimpse of a Sophrosyne, they turn tail and run, even the ones who would normally attack any other dragon they see. Even Fade, the anomaly who still has his intellect, views her with skepticism and has warned Azilia not to go near him unless she can fully revive him back as a Cassare. She as a result watches over the Undeads from afar, training herself hoping that one day her magic will be capable of performing such a feat. She has yet to make any kind of progress towards this goal, though.
