Brimstone Dragons live in dry arid areas such as deserts where they feed mainly on sheep, goats and the occasional camel. Their favorite habitat is ideally situated close to the wastelands around active volcanoes. This is due to an important part of their diet—sulfur, which they obtain from deposits near volcanic gas vents. Instead of fire, these dragons use the sulfur they ingest to create a noxious gas which they store in their large throat pouches. When in danger, this gas is released in a large cloud. They also eat other mineral rich substances—including charcoal—and will drink the mineral rich (but slightly acidic) water commonly found in deserts and volcanic regions.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
The scheming ways of Eris, his mate, have not gone over Stern's head. Stern is well aware of the politics and scheming she gets up to while she thinks he is sleeping, and instead of leaving her, has decided to use his influence to protect others from her. When Eris gets a craving for blueberries, Stern will tip off the nightshift to get some, saving the culinary workers her wrath the next morning. Stern also intervenes on more serious matters however, such as when Eris petitions the council to abandon an egg, he makes sure that she is late to the meeting so the fate of the egg can be decided without her poisonous mouth present. Whenever Eris' assistant slips up, Stern steps in to take the blame, always putting the needs of others before his own. Stern knows that he is strong enough to mentally handle her abuse, however he worries about others and their feelings. Stern has yet to find a way to curb her temper, so while he tries to cool her fury he tries to minimize the damage.
