Skywing Dragons spend most of their lives flying in the air. They hunt from the air, diving at prey from above, and land only to rest. They are some of the fastest fliers, capable of extremely high speeds. The webbing at the end of the tail acts as a rudder, allowing them to easily change direction during flight.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Fateful Skywing found out about Flip Tuck's plan to leave the nest! She was terribly upset at this because she felt that by letting him continue his plan, she would be betraying Wayside Haven and all the dragons that live there. As a small group, they still needed all the support they could get and had yet to carve out a permanent territory with enough resources to support the growing younglings. In addition, Fateful Skywing thought it was wrong for Flip Tuck to lead Andy Whereyougo on just so he could have an adventure. Fateful Skywing knew that she and Flip Tuck were destined to be mates because a traveling gypsy dragon told her so. Anyway, for all these reasons, Fateful Skywing was going to confront Flip Tuck and put a stop to his silly idea, and hopefully his affair with Andy Whereyougo as well.
