Guardian Dragons have large shields on the end of their tails. Although the shields appear to be heavy, they are light, yet nearly unbreakable. Guardian Dragons use their tail-shields, as well as their wings, to deflect attacks and protect others. Often, they will guard the eggs and hatchlings of a nest while others are away. They are generally peaceful, and will not retaliate unless necessary. They have no need to forage or hunt, as they are fed by those they protect.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Urmqv Heart is part of the Mended Hearts lineage. As a wyrmling, he had a serious heart condition that prevented him from enjoying physical activities. Niharia sought to cure him, but could not find what caused the young guardian's problem. Even Thyras was unable to find the problem, and was intrigued enough to ask that the heart be removed for closer examination. Her white nature prevented her from doing it herself, and nobody wanted to do what would surely be fatal to Urmqv, so such was never done.

Upon maturing, Urmqv's heart condition vanished completely. He now travels the world, doing all the things he was unable to when he was young. He works mush as an ordinary guardian does, though he often goofs around in both flight and on land. It is not uncommon to see him flying loops, or doing handsprings, and he will never pass up an opportunity to play tag or capture the flag.
