Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It occasionally shoots small puffs of smoke from its nose, like it’s trying to breathe fire.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Effluent is a guard for the pack's cave entrance, a very competent one who knows how to do everything. If only his mum wouldn't keep insisting on supervising him, he could show everyone how great he is! He can never face a stranger alone or tell someone to go away without an adult standing nearby making sure he's safe. He's eight years old and can do these things by himself... although MAYBE once in a while, RARELY, he could use his mother's help. It's not like he's ever cried because he got lost and thought everybody abandoned him or anything. Nope, that's never happened, and he will totally use his awesome-everything-powers to fight people who argue with him.
