Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Despite being as black as outer space, it has a few bright patterns on it.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Born blind, Hubble could never cast his eyes upwards to the nebulas that hung in the skies above, therefore was never able to mimic the patterns on his body, so never becoming a fully-fledged nebula. Hubble's despair at this led for him joining the Unlucky Thirteen, a group for those hatchlings unfairly frozen before they could grow in their wings and gender, who he adopted as his new family. While Hubble has never seen them, he knows their smells and textures like a mother to a new-born egg, yet fears the burden his lack of sight places on them each and every day. He knows his friends are too good, too kind to ever abandon him, but his endless worry that their generosity may hurt them haunts him on a daily basis. Yet when Hubble tries to help out, or assist in daily chores, he finds himself causing more trouble than would have happened if he had stayed out of it, much to his despair. So Hubble waits guiltily for his true purpose to arrive.
