Nebula Dragons are nocturnal creatures. With the best eyesight to be found, they are often seen staring into space. Each dragon tends to observe a particular nebula and will eventually change their colors and patterns to match it. As the nebula changes over time, the dragon changes with it. The more intricate the design of the nebula, the better chance an individual has of attracting a mate. It is said that the markings on no two Nebula Dragons will be exactly the same.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

At a young age, Virsi left the loving cave where he was born, to quest into the wild for golden riches, magnificent castles and the hand of a beautiful princess. When he arrived at the clan's territory however, all he dreamed of was a warm bed for the night and a hearty meal on the table each day. He had almost given up on his youthful ambitions, where he saw the princess he was looking for. While she was not a princess by birth, she walked with the graces of royalty, and Virsi found himself falling head over heels for this beautiful dragoness. Yet while royalty did not run in her blood, nobility did, and he found himself overcome with despair when it was revealed that she would only mate with a nebula of purple wings. Virsi hated the prejudice, but did not blame her for it, and vowed to go out into the world and do such great deeds which would restore the standing of green nebulae and make him worthy of her.
