Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has bright, shiny scales and loves to play in the sunlight.

And look! It’s grown a forked spade at the end of its tail and long, tufted whiskers! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Miss Sweetie Pie is cute and energetic, but she has a high-pitched voice and isn't the most patient little dragon. She accompanies the adults when they hold their annual honor-of-unusual-achievements show, which celebrates amusing and imaginative research, inventions, and ideas. Miss Sweetie Pie loves the gala, but she can't stand long acceptance speeches from the scientists and mages who win the awards. Once they've spoken for a minute, she casually, innocently strolls up to them and says, "Please stop, I'm bored. Please stop, I'm bored. Please stop, I'm bored" until they stop. She helps the ceremony run briskly, to the benefit of all.
