Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Gift exchanges in which she takes part tend to be far more successful at distributing gifts to individuals who appreciate them than the average exchange. Some suspect that is the reason she got her name, and others suspect that the increased luck is the reason people pronounce her name "us-lucky" rather than any other enunciation that could derive from the strange collection of characters that arose from her name being translated from a telepathic concept into dacrune, then hexglyph, then back to dacrune, then finally into the common alphabet. She sometimes wonders what her parents would think if they saw the current spelling of her name. Perhaps fortunately, they don't read the common alphabet.
