Failed attempts to experiment with magic often result in transforming dragons into these hellish creatures. They are extremely dangerous, and will mindlessly kill any living creature without regard to friend or foe.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Hoping to avenge the death of his best friend Quiele, and his younger sister Feux, Arvil doggedly pursued their murderer on Hallow's Eve. The murderer in question was a malicious necromancer who had donned the guise of one of their human companions, and thus, easily overpowered the young dragons. Unfortunately, Arvil, blind with anger, furiously charged ahead upon finding the necromancer, and fell straight into a trap. Thus, the young drake was killed. However, so great was his desire for revenge, that when the necromancer tried to revive him as a minion, he rose and viciously killed the man. He later attacked some of his companions when they arrived on the scene, not recognizing them at first, his perception altered by his new form. Though no serious injuries occurred, Arvil sent himself into a self-exile in horror of his actions. He now roams the land alone, avoiding other sentient life when at all possible.
