Coastal Waverunners spend most of their time skimming the waves along the coast, snatching up their prey from the shallow waters. They have developed markings along the leading edges of their body that help disguise them as breaking waves. When they are not hunting, they enjoy playing among sand-dunes and shallow tide-pools. These dragons live in small but noisy rookeries. Some stories say Waverunners can fly for days on end without landing.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Sort of shy for the daughter of the loud, obnoxious Teal, Herring seems to take more after her mother, Lagoon. She's rather quiet for a Waverunner, though by no means silent. Herring is a talented angler (which definitely pleases her family patriarch, Aruba) but prefers doing her work alone as opposed to in a large group. She prides herself on being self-sufficient, almost looking down on those who need support to function. Of course, as much as Herring brags about being fine on her own, she never really takes into consideration that she does still need her family. She still lives close to them, takes up the family business, and can't help but have reference for Aruba. She wants to grow up faster than she probably should, leaving her stunted socially. She is still a generally kind girl, if not pretty awkward and lacking in empathy. She's bad under pressure, unable to do anything when the chips are down. Though she won't admit it, this is when she really needs someone else around.
