Sunrise Dragons are closely related to sunset dragons. However, their behaviors differ greatly. Sunrise Dragons prefer to live in large groups and enjoy basking in the early morning sun. They are usually most active in the morning, and go to sleep in the early evening.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

It was the second egg between Clan-Leader Sonnoh and Vaileen, his Mate. The Clan hoped desperately for the hatchling within to be a male. By tradition, only male dragons could inherit the Clan-Leader title. Their wishes all came true. Sonnoh named the hatchling Pharoh, after the Kings of a distant land that he had heard of. As an adolescent, Pharoh was rather mischievous; having been used to getting anything that he wanted. He doesn't like Dermego, his sister's Mate. To this day, they are still rivals; always looking to outdo each other. Despite this rivalry, Pharoh's parents were convinced that he would make an excellent Clan-Leader, but they were wrong. He battled his father for the title, and won. He cast his parents out of the Clan. His arrogance and jealousy has led him to be a cruel leader; ruling with an iron claw. His Reign of Terror finally came to an end some years later, when his younger brother Sorrin challenged him for leadership and won.
