Gemshard Dragons are small, gregarious, expressive easterns, living in large clans high in the jungle canopy. Their bodies are covered in tiny, gem-like scales that shimmer in direct light, and each dragon has a unique pattern of markings on the forked spade of its tail. Though Gemshard Easterns cannot fly, they often leap from springy branches high into the sky on sunny days and perform acrobatic spins and twirls to entertain themselves. When the weather turns foul, they pile up together on sturdy tree limbs and interlock the forks of their tails with others to keep warm and dry.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Though he enjoys interacting and playing with family members, Fecund Amber prefers alone time to watch birds... rather, watch hummingbirds, since it's been a long time since other birds have used his feeders. Years ago, when there was just one feeder, he was astonished to see two hummingbirds causing a ruckus over it. They were body-slamming each other and making terrible sounds. Intrigued, he headed to town to do some research on whether they were mating or fighting. They were fighting. Because of the disputes, over time, Fecund Amber installed more and more feeders. Fortunately, other creatures don't mind them too much, though a few gemshards do find them inconvenient. Every tree in the clan's grove now has at least a dozen feeders, and more hummingbirds than Fecund Amber thought existed gather to feast and fight for perches. They're really brave hummingbirds, the nutty things. He's been taking notes on their behavior. Someday, he will clean up his notes and publish his findings.
