Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Serpent-at-Dusk is the daughter of Taste-of-Night and Utkena. She is a lean, fierce, quiet thing, much akin to a night breeze in the desert. She is very much her mother's daughter; she is largely obsessed with collecting dark and dangerous secrets. When forced into combat, she will turn those secrets on her enemies. She is very familiar with the heart of darkness inside everything alive, and she can call to it, awaken it, even direct it, unless the target is strong-willed. Even then, she knows many tricks of breaking through walls. She might be the sort of dragon that gets a bad reputation among humans, but her preference for subtlety has kept them from noticing her...so far. She is lowest-ranked among the black dragons in her pack for the same reason; she is content to allow the others to strut. Given what she knows about them, they can't actually make her do anything. But it doesn't suit her for them to know that yet. So she bides her time, smiling her secrets.
