Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Ash is essentially the vampire dragon version of a mamma's boy. If Vadnivaric is in any place, chances are Ash will be nearby. He takes insults to vampires as a personal offense and sees the action of biting eggs as a sacred act that is meant for the victim's well being. After all, most vampires targeted eggs that would otherwise be left to die by caretakers. His 'daughter', much like his 'mother', was originally a Waterwalker that would have been likely to have been left abandoned until death. Ash has an arrogant vision of him being the vampire who kills the least amount of eggs during biting in the entire world. He has been noted to sulk for long periods of time if he fails.

On a side note, he loves storytelling. Ash is very good at this, but often chooses to intentionally make them horrible and obscene with the sole purpose of being a jerk. He hopes to one day outdo Tara Gillesbie, a mysterious dragon responsible for one of the most horrid stories ever told in the cave.
