Dusk Pygmies, as their name may suggest, are crepuscular dragons. When the sun sets, they are most active and are commonly seen darting across the sky, the fading sunlight catching and reflecting off of their wings in brilliant patterns. Living in small, tight-knit groups, these pygmies spend many of their waking hours stretching their wings by fetching food for group members. The young, elderly, disabled, and injured are all diligently and lovingly cared for by all of the group. Though rather intelligent, they are easily distracted. Some Dusk Pygmies are prone to hoarding objects that may distract them; others may return late to their roost, long after most of their other group members are already sleeping.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Pygmy dragons are the smallest category of dragons, being on the same scale as domesticated animals. They are often found around concentrated populations of dragons, relying on their larger brethren to ward away potential predators and leave scraps. As such, the majority of a pygmy’s diet is scavenged. Due to their tiny size, pygmies do not breed with larger varieties of dragons.

Trawzwo has a map enchanted by the Nworset cartographer BIok6 that fills itself in as the owner explores. She loved watching it fill in as she flew from place to place, and ended up getting increasingly more lost as she filled in more and more areas by exploring with her map. Eventually she snuck onto a boat to map her way across the sea. The human sailors were not happy when they discovered her and threw her out of the boat. She flew and flew, and eventually her map showed her a small dot of land. She homed in on this little dot and found an island called Tiny Island. Unfortunately, it is too far out to sea for her to fly back to the mainland, so she is stuck. Still, she looks at her map a lot. Sometimes, the map tracks ships going through the areas she has explored. She has systematically flown out to map everywhere she can reach and safely return to the isle, so that if a ship comes close enough she can fly out to it and keep exploring. Until then, she is stuck.
