Waterhorse Dragons received their name due to their horse-like physique and endearing behavior. They are capable of surviving out of water, and when on land their skin secretes a gelatinous goo to retain moisture. However, their large paddle feet are better suited for swimming, and waterhorse dragons tend to move very awkwardly when on land. Waterhorses are very friendly dragons and enjoy playing with humans.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

She is a fairly average Waterhorse. Basin is playful, friendly, and very clumsy. She is so very, VERY clumsy. It's actually kind of concerning how clumsy she is. It seems this Seafeather sibling was cursed with two left flippers, because she cannot go anywhere without slipping over and breaking something. She's somehow even a clumsy swimmer! Despite Basin's unfortunate quirk, she always manages to keep a positive attitude. Basin is a real mana vial half full sort of dragon; she can always find a bright side. While many find this charming or endearing, there are just as many who find it sappy and annoying. Basin is often bullied for her clumsy nature, sometimes even by her own family. Even then, she tries to retain her positive outlook and see the better in others. She is loyal to and completely trusting of any who prove to be a friend, even if her judgement is off. Basin believes in others, and she believes in herself. She believes that if spirits are held high, nothing is impossible.
