Avatars of Destruction possess a volatile disposition. They thrive on chaos and decay, and their horns and plated scales are as hard as forged metal. Because of their affinity with darkness and the destructive forces of nature, it was once thought that these dragons were omens of ill fortune.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

It was her father who gave her power. But it was her mother who gave her purpose.

Born with a control of the arcane that would have made many a magi dragon jealous, Dirge still never felt it was enough. Her father, after all, was a Guardian of Nature, and in comparison to the miracles he could work, her own strength was nothing but a pale mockery. So it was that she spent much of her time brooding, ignoring her father's gentle suggestions that she could do good in other ways... until her mother finally pulled her aside, no questions asked, and set her to work helping with her patients. Initially baffled and overwhelmed by the request--what could SHE do to help anyone, after all--Dirge soon fell into a pleasant rhythm, realizing magic that couldn't turn the seasons could still turn pain to joy. Finally understanding the validity of her father's words, Dirge is now closer than ever to both her parents and her patients, her gentle nature often surprising those familiar with her breed.
