This breed of dragon was thought to exist only in legend. Although their name varies between cultures, they are often referred to as “Guardians of Nature.” They are able to channel the forces of fire, ice and lightning, which allows them to wield tremendous power. Seen very rarely, it is thought that they only become active when something is threatening the territory they have chosen to guard. In order to protect their chosen home, these dragons are incredibly adaptable; they have been seen everywhere from remote mountain ranges, to ancient forests, to the darkest depths of the ocean.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

The land was both very beautiful and very alive. Animals flocked there, playful and tame to those who greeted them as friends, and the flowers bloomed in abundance throughout all the seasons. Yet, as wondrous as all this was, that place held a greater marvel still--

The seasons danced on a whim.

Winter followed spring; fall leaped into summer. This miracle of nature--and all the other joys of that place--was the result of a single dragon's doing. A very ancient Guardian of Nature made his home within that paradise, preserving it against evil and shifting the seasons as needed with powerful magic. Mindful of balance, the dragon played with order in this way only when very good reason demanded he do so, such as when winter was needed to slow a hostile army or a passing hero needed good weather to speed his feet. While such careful watching of his domain requires most of his time, he is sociable when he finds the chance; he is especially close to another of his breed who can control time.
