Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Bromze broke away from the crowd and strode up to the Council without a hint of fear. "Wir sind Karotten," she said, staring at the Eldest in the eyes. The Councilmen eyed each other. "Spargel," she continued. "Rettich. Torte. Pfund Kuchen. Gerste! Apfelsaft! Pfefferkorn!!" Even the Eldest winced slightly at the last word. Bromze leaned in until they were almost nose-to-nose. He could feel her hot breath, but he sat, unmoving, as the bronze dragon continued her verbal assault for an uncomfortably long time. The rest of the Council were mumbling urgently. Bromze's final utterance, "Schweineschwarte!", was yelled at the top of her neurons, followed by a whispered, "Milch". Then she turned with a grunt and left the cave.

Bromze was banished from the clan forever. Nobody knows what she said or why she said those things, but she delivered them with such malice that they must've meant terrible things. She was always an odd and eerie individual, and the clan was glad to be rid of this menace.
