Nebula Dragons are nocturnal creatures. With the best eyesight to be found, they are often seen staring into space. Each dragon tends to observe a particular nebula and will eventually change their colors and patterns to match it. As the nebula changes over time, the dragon changes with it. The more intricate the design of the nebula, the better chance an individual has of attracting a mate. It is said that the markings on no two Nebula Dragons will be exactly the same.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Nervia is a prom king, and when that didn't work out, a boat repairman. He has yet to meet any former prom queens and prom kings who were schooled at the Goethals Academy, but he's curious what kind of life they have because he certainly couldn't get a job by boasting only his prom king status. He has a lot of free time because there are no bodies of water near where he lives and so has to fly out to other places to perform repair jobs. Nervia adopted his dead enemy's daughter (long story), and although he wasn't ready to be a caretaker at the time, he did his best to raise the young girl so she wouldn't go down the same path as her father. He carried her everywhere in his tool bag until she was old enough to fly without help. She still visits him occasionally, where she's eager to hear what he's doing (boat repair) and happily tells him what she's up to (not boat repair).
