Daydream Dragons are the hosts of daydreams and fantasies. They spend the majority of their time sitting on clouds, dropping daydreams down into the minds of people passing by. Humans who live near Daydream Dragons must be especially careful not to let their thoughts wander, or they could end up spending hours or even days in a trance-like waking dream state.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Soft the Feathered is something of an aimless homebody. When he was younger, he used to travel through different locations in eastern Galsreim, but he since let go of the adventuring spirit and now stays in the cave. He assists his neighbors with their work or chores and his siblings with their research by gathering samples and bringing over useful books and scrolls. Soft the Feathered is not quite satisfied with any of these tasks, though he doesn't dislike them, either. He has a feeling that a new thing will come to him while he's working and he'll realize that that's what he's needed... whatever that means. Sometimes, thinking too hard about what he wants puts him in a daze. He has a habit of absentmindedly twirling a lock of his hair with his finger.
