Dorsal Dragons are so named because they have large fins along their backs that can be raised and lowered at will. They use these fins to regulate body temperature; they raise them to cool off when they become overheated. The bright colors on the fins double as a means of attracting mates.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Dorsal Dancer is extremely fast and graceful. He uses his extreme speed to carry messages across long distances in record time. He also does a few reconnaissance missions into enemy territories to scout their positions. He has an extremely detached personality and deals with everything as if it is all business. He rarely allows himself to calm down and enjoy himself. He is fed and paid by whomever he is currently working for; essentially he is a mercenary for hire. Currently the cave is paying him handsomely for his services, but no one completely trusts him. They know that his allegiances can suddenly change if the right amount of payment is put on the table. For these reasons he is never entrusted with the more important messages that need to be carried. They cannot afford to lose him though, because he is still a valuable asset.
