Magma Dragons are capable of withstanding the intense temperatures of their element. They live in volcanic regions, their bodies coated in the red hot magma which clings to their scales. They must leave the lava fields in order to hunt, although they require surprisingly little food to sustain their lumbering mass.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Pyro Clast arrived in Verdant as an egg, and was raised in the Mint Garden and School for Hatchlings, like many of the Verdant area dragons.  She has always been rather athletic, loving mountain climbing and racing as fast as wind back down the mountain.  She knows all the range of volcanic mountains that ring Verdant as well as she knows the scales at the end of her tail, and has settled as an adult in the Southern Volcano Weyr headed by Adam Red Fire and Lyricist.  She has a little bit of a crush on Molten Iggy, but he hasn't noticed, being currently pair-bonded with Marlene Dietrich.  Pyro's still quite young though, and there just might be someone else coming 'round the next mountain...
