Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Maho Tsukai Sunstone is mate to Nana. Maho's eggmates are Ruka, Saki, Fushichou, and Kazuhiko. From the moment he hatched he was a womanizer. He was constantly flirting with his eggmate Ruka, which didn't help the situation with her parents, or with one of the adult dragonesses. Soon after growing his wings his attentions became more focused on Nana, the eldest dragoness in the cave. At the start Nana was dead set against his attentions, but an egg year after he became an adult they became mates and had an egg. How they ended up together is rather a mystery to everyone else in Brambly Hedge cave. Despite the fact he has a mate and adores their little ones, Maho is still an outrageous flirt who from time to time looks at other dragonesses.
