Black Tea Dragons have small scent glands on the underside of their wing arm that release a pleasant scent. Though many creatures enjoy being in the vicinity of Black Tea dragons, the scent is intended to draw in swarms of butterflies. Though Black Tea dragons are full sized dragons, these insects are the mainstay of their diet.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Whenevere is Guardian's daughter, and lives with him and her mate on the border between jungle and desert. Her and Shadeleaper met on a hunting expedition, and during mating season their feelings of tender romance increased. They decided to live together permanently with Guardian and had a hatchling together, Whijah. Whenevere sometimes enjoys exploring deeper into the jungle, as she didn't have much interest in the green tinted utopia of wildlife until Shadeleaper came along.

Whenevere keeps a yellow parakeet called Lime as a pet, as the bird started following her around one day and keeps eating her food. She doesn't mind much. Since her father is alpha Trinh's adviser, she and Shadeleaper are sometimes allowed to go to gatherings. She has thought about becoming an adviser herself, but her farther does that job perfectly. She does make the most interesting fruit dishes though.
