Soulstone Dragons are deeply empathic creatures. The pearls which they carry with them from a very young age are deeply attuned to the emotions of those around them, glowing in accordance with the strength and sincerity of the bonds individuals share with one another. Soulstone dragons have the ability to show that, even in the heat of a vicious feud, the love that friends, family, and partners share for one another remains true and strong.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

As an egg, Reacquire was lost during a turbulent move, and her parents knew that the odds of her survival were slim and finding her even slimmer. Nine years later, they happened across a traveling bunch of merchants, and among them was Brat 5, a little purple soulstone with a pearl. Unlike the other Brats, she was thankful for the grownups adopting her and teaching her various skills, and she would do her best to help the group. With her innate ability to read emotions, though, she could tell, without anyone saying anything, that they couldn't wait to be rid of her once she was old enough. Upon meeting Brat 5, Ma Soulstone was convinced she was her child despite never seeing her before, and it didn't take much payment or verbal persuasion to get custody. She deemed Brat 5's name stupid and changed it to Reacquire, which was less stupid. It took a few more years for Reacquire to appreciate what a lucky meeting this was, and she hopes she won't ever see that much excitement again.
