When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Giant Squid lives in a lake beside a castle called Hogwarts.

He likes the humans that live in the castle. Without them, his life would be dreary and dull because his lake is small by dragon standards.

Giant Squid is about 70 feet long and he loves crossing his lake lazily.

He finds the humans amusing.

Sometimes they throw tiny snacks into the lake for him. He heard that these are called "toast" and they taste delicious.

Once in a while a human falls into the lake and Giant Squid comes to rescue. He actually likes when that happens because it guarantees a steady supply of "toast" for a short time after.

About once a year, in the beginning of the summer, humans swim in the lake and it is very entertaining. A few brave ones even tickle Giant Squid's tentacles.
