Labradorite dragons are some of the most potent siphons of mana in Valkemare. Dragons and other magical creatures in close proximity to a Labradorite will weaken over time, and extended exposure may even be fatal. However, Labradorites have no control over this effect; any harm they may cause is almost always unintentional. In order to protect others from their draining, they make their homes in the labyrinthine depths of underground caves. Perhaps as a result of this seclusion, Labradorites are gracious hosts to the brave few who dare explore their dark caverns. Legends tell of how these curious dragons traded their sight for wisdom, and those who seek their guidance are richly rewarded with stories, advice, and the odd gemstone.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Beryl is certainly an upsettingly interesting case. As a Labradorite, she was expecting to be isolated forever, locked in darkness with no one to speak to. Instead, she was mated to the powerful leader of the Xeno Family, Tardis, and given a life of luxury. Tardis saw her potential as a powerful tool and promised her a wonderful life in exchange for her loyalty and genes. With no other option besides complete isolation, Beryl agreed and was indeed showered with luxury and blessed with a huge and powerful family. However, to keep her draining ability at bay, she is secluded in her own room deep in the family manor, a long glass window separating her from the world. She has basically become Tardis' literal trophy mate, right down to the glass casing. Occassionally, he will use her to threaten dragons that step out of line, bringing her and her magic-draining power out of storage to intimidate the unruly.
