The egg faded away completely; in its place there’s a cute baby dragon. It doesn’t seem to have much substance, though.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Sookie has had an obsession with hiding since she was little, squeezing through every nook and cranny in the cave she lived in. This was very inconvenient for those who had to look after her, but it came as no surprise when she decided to become frozen, so she was still able to fit through the smallest of passageways. As she becomes older mentally if not physically, Sookie decided to use her talent for the benefit of the cave, helping to explore the large complex in which the clans lived and assisting with rescues in case of a cave in. Many of the older dragons worry about a hatchling getting involved in such dangerous work, but Sookie's enthusiasm can easily quash their fears. Sookie is one of the few frozen hatchlings that takes a full time job in the clans, and is used as a poster girl by the council to encourage other hatchlings to also pull their weight, however Sookie is isolated from her frozen hatchling peers who see her as a showoff.
