Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Like his insane cannibalistic father, Shruiken is fond of singing jaunty, seemingly random little tunes, although he does not savor the taste of well-roasted human. He is restless by nature, never able to settle down in once place, but always moving on to new lands. He is a bounty hunter, ruthlessly tracking down and capturing his quarry, but he hunts only those who deserve to be brought to justice. But his life changed when he met Ayanna, and as he fell ever more deeply in love with her, he slows his wandering pace all the more, and perhaps at this rate will someday stay still long enough to live in a permanent home with his mate.
