Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glow brightly at night, and it enjoys attacking insects and small animals.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Very few believe in her existence; and even fewer have ever caught sight of her. As elusive and beautiful as the mist that snakes through the cemeteries she calls home, she walks among the tombs of those who deserved life, but found only death. Some say that she is responsible for the epitaphs that appear on the graves of the poor who could not afford them; others say she does not write, but merely sings, her clear voice echoing the hymns and requiems sung over the resting places of the great heroes. Legend says that she guards over the dead as they sleep, and makes sure those who were worthy of honor are acknowledged, at last.

The sight of her is also said to instill a strong sense of mourning in whoever catches glimpse of her.
