Shallow Water Dragons are found in tropical regions where the water is warm. They use their magic to hunt, using bubbles to capture small fish and animals. Their large, webbed feet make them excellent swimmers and they are able to move at very high speeds. Due to their bright color, these dragons are easily spotted in the lagoons where they live.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

His name means "Good Heart" in Japanese. His biological parents are Hotaru and Fuji, but he was raised by Hotaru and his mate Aiko. Since Hotaru and Aiko are unable to conceive children, Fuji agreed to lay an egg for them. Ryoushin spent most of his childhood with his parents, but was visited often by Fuji. When he reached maturity, all the single females in the colony wanted to be his mate, but he just didn't feel any sparks with any of them. And then Koibito grew up, and he fell in love with her timid nature. He thinks that she is the most beautiful dragon on earth, and is completely dedicated to making her life wonderful. When she agreed to be his mate, he felt like the happiest dragon on earth. And to this day they are happy, and deeply in love.
