Geode Dragons are closely related to Stone dragons. They are covered in a hard stone-like material as well as beautiful crystal. Their wings are entirely useless for flight, but they help attract mates. The dragons with the most brilliant and colorful crystals are more likely to mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Crystalhiss is one of Phoenix's dragons. She is quiet and dislikes speaking in front of groups, but she can stand up for herself and has a sharp tongue, though only if provoked. She is very pretty, and many male dragons tend to show off to her, especially Firefin, a red dorsal dragon. Crystalhiss doesn't see him as very interesting though, and really tends to ignore him, much to his disappointment. Crystalhiss never knew her mother, who was released before she hatched. Her father, Zemathou, always keeps her close by his side and chases off any males that happen to hang around. He's not as gruff toward Firefin, however, because he believes him to be a good and strong dragon, and a fine mate.
