Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Elegant is a proud dragon. There isn't any polite way to say it. He's arrogant and utterly wrapped up in the fact that he was born gold. The hordes of knights who have attacked him desiring scales haven't dented his pride—he is convinced they're just jealous.<br/>Of course, part of the pride is to cover up the fact that he's the second golden dragon in Nadat's cave, not the first. Count Halo Fate never rubs in this fact, but it's there. The very proud yet quite insecure Elegant boasts and preens, but is left knowing he'll never be first. There is a chance for him to be the first to father a golden egg in the cave, but his pride is getting in the way of that too. After all, it isn't a humble dragon that keeps refusing prospective mates.<br/>Maybe one day he'll learn. Until then, he'll still be the same arrogant and lonely dragon.
