Red Dragons are similar to typical story book dragons. They shoot flames, can fly, etc. However, they aren’t evil creatures as depicted in myths and won’t go around raiding castles, killing knights, or kidnapping princesses. They live in a variety of habitats, from forests to coastlines to abandoned castles, usually in warm climates, and eat whatever living creatures they can find.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Ever the shy and retiring type, Llygad was named after her attitude, and has such consideration for other's feelings that she would do anything to avoid hurting them. Apologising repeatedly after making a mistake, she will worry her way through life, frequently getting upset but being too worried that to point someone's rudeness out would be to offend them. Llygad doesn't see flaws in dragons, relying on having them pointed out to her, so often feelings that she is the only imperfect one, leaving her very sad and regretful about her life. Everyone else seems so much prettier, talented, just nicer to be around then her, and she fails to see how she can have any friends at all. Such is her modest nature that she cannot perceive the humor she has, nor how her sweet and caring attitude attracts friends to her like bees to pollen. Barely making it through a day without feeling entirely alone, Llygad fears, yet wants and hopes for help, refusing to believe that her friends would abandon her.
