Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Deidara ill-Heart is one of the lower-ranked ill-Heart Vampires of Natasha's Cave. He is also considered the craziest, for a number of reasons. First of all, Deidara insists on naming every one of the other Vampires he bites, when normally they'd name themselves. He treats them all like his minions until they're big enough to be a threat, then he ignores them completely like they don't exist. At ill-Heart meetings, Deidara usually offers the craziest and most dangerous input to any sort of plans the ill-Hearts might have. He talks about hundreds of crazy different ways to rid the world of non-Vampiric dragons. Usually he must be forced to shut up.

Overall he tolerates Kisame ill-Heart better than any other, but the others have had to force him to stay away from Sasori ill-Heart due to... differences of opinions.
