Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Itachi is one of the 'ill-Hearts' a young group of Vampire Dragons of Natasha's Cave who stick together as a pack. Compared to the others, Itachi is quiet and thoughtful. He doesn't like talking unless necessary, as he sees it as a waste of time. Though bitten by the crazed Deidara ill-Heart, Itachi is perhaps the most sensible of the ill-Hearts, and it's mostly thanks to him that the group hasn't gotten into deep trouble with the Alpha Vampires, Minty Mistake and 'Blood'.

Itachi is a well-accepted member of Natasha's cave, appreciated for his quiet nature by normal dragons and appreciated for his thoughtful planning by Vampires. It is rumored that Minty Mistake is even considering making Itachi a Beta Vampire, but Itachi is so young (just under nine years), this is likely rumor.
