Waterhorse Dragons received their name due to their horse-like physique and endearing behavior. They are capable of surviving out of water, and when on land their skin secretes a gelatinous goo to retain moisture. However, their large paddle feet are better suited for swimming, and waterhorse dragons tend to move very awkwardly when on land. Waterhorses are very friendly dragons and enjoy playing with humans.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The quieter Seafeather sibling, Monon (her nickname) is not the same preachy, overly active dragon as her brother, Shenandoah. She is much quieter and solitary. She tends to wander around on her own, leaving home for weeks at a time to explore and observe. Strangely enough, she feels more comfortable out of water than in it, though her movements are only slightly less awkward than other Waterhorses'. Monon is fascinated by the world around her. She becomes incredibly curious of other dragons, where they come from, what they do, everything about them. She is admittedly pretty creepy the way she stalks her subjects and has gotten in trouble once or twice for this behavior. But she never means any harm by it. Unsurprisingly, Monon suffers from intense social anxiety. She has an incredibly difficult time expressing herself and speaking to others, so she usually just doesn't bother. When caught in rough situations, she will rely on using her Water magic to give herself time to run away.
